Didn't try the food but the ale was in a nice condition. We went to have a read and a game of cards, but I'd say it was more of a socialising (read: loud!) pub. Probably a great place to go for a drink with a group of friends though.

Bit of a dive really, friendly enough though. Hook Norton on tap in a drinkable condition.

The Black Prince, Woodstock
Wasn't put off by the modernish interior. We tromped in covered in mud and didn't raise an eyebrow, luckily. The food ranges from decadent to very reasonably priced (a section of their menu is dedicated to �5 meals). The portions were good, the staff were friendly and gave great service. Will definitely be back.
