The Crown and Sceptre, South Croydon
I was recommended this pub for Sunday lunches by a bar staff member from another pub when I was about to have a Sunday roast in the pub he worked in! This bar staff member was not wrong in his recommendation - the Sunday roasts are cooked to a very high quality together with plenty of seasonal vegetables and roast potatoes all at an amazing �5.95.
All in all I would recommend this pub to anyone who is at a loose end on a Sunday and wants to have a well prepared reasonably priced Sunday roast. The landlord and other bar staff always seem very pleasant and are willing to make sure you have extras like horseradish sauce or apple sauce if you require them. Naturally the beers on offer are very well kept as well.
Highly recommended if you are looking for somewhere to eat for Sunday lunch in the South Croydon area without noise or disturbance from Sky TV or gaming machines that are prevalent in other pubs.
