Blue Anchor, Crowborough

I went to the Blue Anchor in Crowborough to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday last weekend. As usual the food was excellent and the service was spot on. We had two starters, two main courses, an excellent bottle of wine and a couple of 'liveners' - all for �60 plus tip. We were due to go to Thackeray's in Tunbridge Wells that evening but decided that based on past experience, the food at the Blue Anchor was every bit as good, very reasonably priced and just along the road from our house. We weren't disappointed by our decision. I can firmly recommend the Spitfire Rarebit, the Pork Belly and the Pinot Gris (�18) to wash it all down. We have lived close to the Blue Anchor for over 12 years and whilst we have never been 'pubby' people before, the food and welcome that we get from Martyn, Damian and Caroline - even when just popping in for a pint and some pork scratchings have definitely converted us and keep us coming back for more!
