The Three Stags, Lambeth

I love this place. The decor is very elegant and stylish but warm and inviting. The owners have preserved the period features and charm while modernizing the space. The ambient lighting is very atmospheric and relaxing. It is such a pleasure to discover a gem like this with so much mood and character compared to the nasty over lit, generic slew of chain bars across London. Sadly, quirky old pubs like the Three Stags seem so rare nowadays. Excellent wine list and a classic British comfort food menu which is unpretentious with the emphasis on simple quality. Mellow tunes, cool art gallery to check out upstairs and swift, friendly service. Really enjoy hanging out there and would recommend it to anyone with taste.
