Island, Caversham

went there on a Tue night - was pretty quiet but perfect to sit and eat out on the decking / terrace.
restaurant not open apparently yet but the barfood was pretty special I must say - better than some "restaurant" fare I've been offered in the past.
top place to eat and entertain - will go back on a weekend to see how busy it gets!

The Bell Inn, Aldworth

awesome unspoilt country pub - but closing times (traditional) caught me out on sunday - BUM!!

so had to carry on searching...

The Griffin, Caversham

my fave caversham pub - by the river.

(although you cant really see it - shame - missed opportunity there poss!?! !- perhaps the staff dont want to walk to the river from pub to fish out drunken clientel!?!?)
its now a chef and brewer so usual standards apply there - but food is indeed good and beer and the outside beer garden is lovely and quite buzzing at times.
nice interior, atractive attendees and you can always brush up on yr antipodean lingo with the bar staff.
nice! ..
