Prince of Wales, Islington

Completely agree with Rabdes. Brilliant friendly pub. The Charles Lamb was full so we came here and were so happy that the other pub had been full. Amazing barlady. Lots of fantastic original 30s features around the pub and the selection of beer and cider was good (not the usual awful lager/ Strongbow/ Guinness/ Magners). And, for the area, the prices were very good. I pray it doesn't get redeveloped but is preserved and treasured as it is.

The Rose and Crown, Stoke Newington

Went to this pub on a Sunday for a few pints with friends. The place was just clearing out the family lunch crowd and I got the impression that it was very child friendly or, at the very least, child tolerant from the amount of extended families who seemed to have popped in for lunch.

The beer was very reasonably priced. They had Scrumpy Jack on tap, which was a massive bonus as this is becoming near impossible to find in pubs. And I thought the interior was beautiful. A rare old unmodernised pub. I will definitely be going back regularly even though it involves a bus ride.
