The Mitre, Richmond

The beer is in excellent condition. the stained glass windows are beautiful and rare these days. Look out for the hand-pumps; they are original Gaskell and Chambers beer engines. ( You can see the name on the brass-work when your pint is pulled) There are also regular music evenings held here

The Coombe Abbey Inn, Coventry

The last time I was in here, they sold draught Bass in perfect condition, but that was 35 years ago. Are there really no cask beers anymore? It seems an awful shame if it's true. I'll check it out next time I'm in Coventry

The White Swan, Twickenham

I was in The White Swan on Saturday and I'm pleased to see that the old photographs of the locals are back, along with the photographs of The Great Raft Race, the Rugby ephemera and the Country Life article on Twickenham Riverside ( which may have been there all along ), so don't be put off by the refurbishment; try it yourself and see
