The John Harvey Tavern, Lewes

Came down from London with group of friends to sample sunday lunch and real ale. Ale was well kept, with four or five different varieties - all went down a treat. As there were a couple of latecomers we missed sunday lunch (they had run out by 2.30pm) and ordered from the general menu. Truly, this was the worst meal I have ever had the misfortune to taste. Including school dinners from 25 years ago. And no, we're not poncy Londoners demanding this that and the other. We had one native Londoner, rest of us from the North and Midlands.

All in all, lovely afternoon though. And great to have a beer in the birthplace of the John Harvey brewery. Enjoy the beer but if you go on a sunday, arrive and order early!
