Nice welcome, but a shame there was no real ale available on hand pump. We tried the bottled Unicorn, which was fine and reasonably priced.

Very disappointing. Following decent reviews, went here on Friday night. The doors were locked, altough the pub appeared to have a few customers inside. A few smokers were outside a back door - they appeared to have drunk far too much. They were staggering about, and told us there was a "private function" (this was at 6pm on Good Friday)! The barmaid at the next (very hospitable) pub we visited told us that this happened quite regularly.
How can pubs that act like this expect custom? They certainly won't be getting mine again in a hurry.
