The model of a well run pub to my mind. Well kept and constantly changing real ales, freshly cooked & imaginitive food, no slot machines, excellent atmosphere, well patronised by locals. Landlord knows about and cares about his beer, his wines and his food. B&B too.

The George and Dragon, Great Budworth
Beautiful location. Have been going to this pub occasionally for years. Won't be making the trip specially any more. Now has a listless and unloved feel. Where once there was a perfectly kept pint of TT Landlord to look forward to, now it's ordinary beers and cynically churned out food (a very tough lamb knuckle, mash & veg irradiated in the microwave before it hit the table). No competition nearby.
