The Ship and Anchor, Ford

Several of us were supporting the Swimming Gardener on his Arun Pub Crawl and decided we would stop for drinks and a good view of all the brilliant swimmers who took part in this charity swim for the Chestnut Tree House and RNLI. I was astounded to be greeted by the proprietor who promptly made us all feel unwelcome. She said she couldn,t possibly accomodate us as it was a bank holiday weekend ! (?). Does she alway treat potential paying customers in this manner. It was a shame, we were having a wonderful time and all were in good spirits until the encounter with this woman. We had friends from Oxford with us, who had travelled down that morning, they understandably felt upset by the hostile reception we received. All we required was a sit down and some refreshments, which we found in a much friendlier atmosphere at the Look and Sea centre. I was just wondering if all the good reviews where actually written by the landlady herself - just a thought!
