The Worlds End, Finsbury Park

This place has gone down hill fast in the past 5 years. This used to be one of the best places in North london for live music. Back when it was run by a Guy called Morris. Live music 7 nights a week and twice on Sunday, every taste catered for and good beer too. He left and the slippery slide begun, fast. Great potential if it will only be tapped into as a live venue, there are fast disappearing for london.

O'Neills, Soho

When there today between the shows at Trafalger Square, When there in plenty of time to be back for Paul Brady, or so I thought! I've been there many times before but not in the last 3 years as I've been in South Africa, so I was looking forward to a good Pint and some good food, Ordered the Pint of Guinness for myself and coke for my wife and food for an eastern european blonde haired girl with a red Shirt on behind the bar upstairs. We waited 55 Mins for the food and when it came I got what I'd ordered but my wife got a side order of Colcannon, a feckin' side order, I said that it was ment to be O'Neills Sausage and Colcannon and asked the waitress to get the rest of the order, The 'Blonde' Girl that took our order returned with her and she said it was my mistake that I didn't say it was O'neill Sausage and Colcannon, even though I was Pointing at the menu at the time I ordered. (Pointing at the menu saying 'Stew and Colcannon') She have no problem then understanding me, I asked when we could have the sausages for my wifes meal, she said in about an hour! A feckin hour to cook sausages! I said to her how many people ask for a side order as a main meal? She wouldn't answer and she it was all my fault that I'd gotten what I did! We asked for the money back for the Colcannon and shared the stew between us! I've been going to that particular O'Neills for many years now, prior to going to South Africa and was good friends with the previous Manager Frank, God Rest His Soul, he must be turning in his grave at the level of service there now! I spoke the Ass. Manager and Gen. Manager of the place and while the Ass. Manager was applogetic the GM only smiled and said 'I know, but sure what can I do but say sorry' as he smiled smugly! Now don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way but why O why have waiting staff and bar staff who can't speak english in an Irish Pub? I'll be bringing this matter to attention of O'neills HQ, ASAP. As for Waldor Street, NEVER AGAIN WILL I DARKEN THE DOOR OF THE DUMP! Bring back the Old WAG Club!
