The Albany, Thames Ditton

A shame that some people are posting bad comments about this pub. I have been quite a few times, both midweek and weekends, and never had any problem with the food, service or anything else. The food is fantastic and the staff are really friendly, no matter how busy it gets. Perhaps other posters caught them on a bad day, they do happen. Did they complain to the staff at the time or just whinge on here, I wonder?

If the pub's busy at weekends, that's because it's good! So don't be surprised if you have to wait a bit for your order, or if they've run out of the most popular dishes! Get there earlier!

The Kings Head, Luxor

I found this place whilst on a low-budget tour through Egypt back in August 2003. Just like stepping back to the UK as you went through the door (apart from King Tut being the Head in question on the pub sign behind the bar!).

After a couple of weeks of Egyptian food (not that there's anything wrong with it), their chip butties tasted like the food of the Gods. I think the beer was good, but it didn't touch the sides on the way down!

A Fantastic pub. Very friendly, great atmos, great food, great outdoors deck in the Summer. Dont' let 'Mr. Still Angry's' comments put you off - he hasn't visited it for over a year, and since then it's changed completely.
