Packed after the England/Wales game. Spoons policy on selling cheaper beer than other establishments goes out of the window on rugby match days, with a price rise from £2.60 to £4.80 for Doom Bar. An absolute disgrace.

The George Inn, Newnham

I found this pub quite by accident, and glad I did. Really good lunchtime food and friendly landlord. In a lovely location, rustic and full of character. Couldn't try the ale as I was driving, but would certainly recommend a visit if you're in the area.

The Old Five Bells, Burnham

Myself and my disabled friend went in here as part of the Burnham crawl. There were only 2 punters in, both standing at the bar chatting to the barmaid. Either she didn't see us, or ignored us while she continued to chat. When eventually she came over, we were asked in an annoyed tone 'what do you want'? We both chose the Abbot, but on consideration of the offhand and rude way we had been welcomed, we decided to forgo the beer and leave. As everyone who lives in this area knows, there are several pubs locally. I will now drink in any of them apart from this one.
