The Stagg Inn, Titley

Stopped off at this pub on the way to a weekend in mid-Wales.
Boy, was it worth it! Thankfully I wasn't driving so could enjoy the cool. hoppy brilliance of the Hobson's bitter as well as the wine.
The food was stunning. I had seared foi gras to start, which was just divine. Then some slow-roasted pork belly. For afters I chose the chees and they whelled out this antique trolley thing, which was fun. The Welsh cheeses were really interesting. All in all the meal was serious 10/10 territory.
I left a very happy man, clutching one of the Stagg's homemade chorizo sausages.
I can't imagine when I'll ever be back that way again, which is a shame because I would eat there a lot otherwise.

The Old Queens Head, Penn

We went on Sunday for lunch and had a brilliant time. Managed to bag the big table by the window in the bar area and enjoyed a top knotch roast with mates. It's fun watching a busy pub in full swing.
Food was all class - big cuts, top roasties and sweet veg. Service was all smiles and friendly. I haven't eaten in the restaurant bit before but will probably give that a go having read the menu.
Can't imagine what happened to the people who reviewed this pub below. There's no way this pub can be that bad - certainly not with the numbers enjoying themselves on Sunday.
Can't wait to go again frankly.
