Pioneer Bar and Brasserie, Crosby

I own Pioneer Bar and Brasserie and would like to respond to the above comment. I think Mr Eddy Gilroy must be a little confused as to which establishment he entered when he had this dreadful experience. Pioneer Bar and Brasserie has been open for 16 months and we have never sold "Fosters" lager. We do however sell Becks Vier, Staropramen, Peroni - all premium brands in their own genre. Our prices range from 2.65 a pint (Becks Vier) to 3.45 a pint (Peroni). All are served in their own branded glassware to ensure the best experience possible. As for Mr Gilroy's 3 words:-

1. Expensive? We set our prices at the top end of the market to deter the aspects of society who use language such as Mr. Gilroy has above. There are lots of reasonable establishments a few hundred yards down the road from us both is Crosby Village and South Road who charge considerably less than us where I think Mr. Gilroy would feel more at home in using this type of language.

2. Slapdash? Maybe Mr. Gilroy isn't familiar with the table service we offer both in our restaurant and bar. I would say we are possibly the opposite of slapdash and more articulate and precise in everything we do.

3. Overrated? Come and find out for yourself!!!

As for the food - I couldn't possibly comment on the steak as I've never actually tried to microwave a steak before? I certainly wouldn't know what a "microwaved steak" would look like. Mr Gilroy seems to be an expert in the "microwaved steak" field so watch out Gordon Ramsay and Heston Blumenthal, Mr. Eddy Gilroy is around the corner.

Our fillet steak dish is priced at 15.95 (not 17) and is available on a Friday and Saturday evening from 5pm. We serve a sirloin midweek at 2 courses for 12.50. This is probably the reason Mr Gilroy wasn't asked "how is your day off fella"??

At Pioneer we do not proclaim to kiss people's "arses", however if you were looking for a more "continental" experience I would be happy to give you a kiss on the cheek. Please come in and ask for me personally.

I think we have established Mr Gilroy didn't actually venture into "Pioneer Bar and Brasserie" during this dreadful experience. If Mr Gilroy reads this and can clean up his language then maybe he could visit my establishment and see that someone really has, in his words, "rung the changes in Crosby"
