The George, Eton

Group of 4 visited The George Inn, last weekend. We had three glasses of Garter from Windsor & Eton brewery, all tasted of vinegar/acidic. Barman took a taste and declared that the ale was good. We left the beer and the expensive pub. Will stick to the Carpenters in future, where they know how to look after beer.

The Carpenters Arms, Windsor

Best selection of beer in Windsor, generally has an excellent choice with Doombar at �2.80 usually has pale/blonde ales such Sharps Coaster, Harvest Pale, Liberation Blonde, all at around �3,00, which is very refreshing considering the pub is only yards from the castle. The beers are always well kept and service is good. Also, very reasonable., good quality food, recommend the 10oz rib-eye steak at less than �11.
