Very large pub in the Wetherspoons chain. Food OK and cheap. Always has several interesting real ales kept reasonably well. Looking forward to 1st July as it can get smokey in there.

The Buffet Bar, Stalybridge
First class pub. Regular haunt on outings (pub crawls)from the rugby club as it is very convenient for the train home!
Beer first class. Black peas and black pudding are a delight
