The Dog House, Kennington

The Dog House *is* a pub full of locals. If you want trendy, go to the White Hart across the road. If you want to mix with Kennington people, then stay at the Dog House. The pub has a real mix of people - countries, job types etc. Visit more than a couple of times, and you'll be recognised and welcomed. It's so popular locally that yes - on a Friday or Saturday night - unless you are already known, you will get basic service while the poor 12 hour shift barpeople do their thing. It gets busy, very busy. I love it - but then I live in Kennington. It doesn't need more people - it's cosy, and YOU need to put the effort in to meet the varied people that frequent frequently. It's a pub you grow to love - so one visit will not "buy you in". Speak to people in the bar, be nice to whichever person/country is serving you, and you've got a new friendly family. I love this pub. I would rate this pub with a low score to stop too many more people coming, but I can't. Genuine.
