The George And Dragon, Alrewas

Yesterday we called at this pub for a snack lunch just after 1.00p.m. Our party of five included my 87 year old wheelchair bound mother. As it was a fine day and since it would have been difficult to manoevre the wheel chair in between the tables and chairs inside the pub, we decided to sit outside.
Having oredered our drinks we then asked the barman (or possibly the landlord?) if we could order some baguettes. He advised us to give our order to a member of the kitchen staff. My aunt spoke to one of them who responded quite abruptly that they didn't serve food to outside tables! depite my husband's offer to collect the food himself, the response was a categorical "No" as it was "against our rule and we stick to it"
The most annoying aspect of all this was that this "rule" was not made clear at the outset despite the fact that my aunt had let the barman know we were outside before ordering the drinks. So much for equality for the disabled!
May I suggest that this pub instills the system used successfully by many other establishments and numbers the tables then issues numbered tickets or wooden spoons to customers?
