The Parrot Inn, Forest Green

Have been there twice now in the last couple of months, both times on gorgeous sunny days and with it's idyllic country setting this pub is perfect for nice weather. Plenty of outside seating and a good size car park. Both times the pub has been very busy but even so the staff were very efficient and friendly. The food has been excellent. Can't comment on the ale as it's not my thing but the Stowford Press was lovely

Scarlett Arms, Walliswood

Would like to comment on the food but, unfortunately, have been turned away hungry both times I have tried to eat here! The first time we got a bit lost trying to find the pub, so turned up at 2.30 just as they had stopped serving. The second occasion, we arrived in plenty of time but was told that there was no food left. It wasn't really this that annoyed me but rather the condescending manner in which I was told "well it is a Bank Holiday" as if I was a moron for expecting there to be food left! My reply "perhaps you should take in the boards outside announcing that you are serving food" was met with a blank stare. On both occasions we nipped down the road to The Parrot where we were welcomed with fresh food, prompt friendly service and a lively atmosphere. I won't be trying the Scarlett Arms again!
