The Three Compasses, Farringdon

As far as pubs go, yeah I guess it is more of a casusal restaurant now. I thought the Thai food was really good though and cheap. Though so fast you are a bit surprised ;) Been there 3 times and will go back. Though mostly for the food. Can see moving on to someplace with more atmosphere later. Every meal I have has was great though.

Studio 6, South Bank

Food is good actually (true that bar service is slow and house white is not very nice) but not a bad place all in all, better for the outside seating. It doesn't look quite as ugly as this picture either. Maybe they fixed it up since then.

The Garrison, London Bridge

Nice atmosphere but food is not work the money. For example, I have a greasy fried chicken satay for about 6.50 and it was cheap quality meat. Wine is double the price and half the size of the Woolpack across the road. I was disappointed. :(

The Kings Arms, London Bridge

Love the red decor and they usually have some great specials. A bit too smokey though. Could sort out some better ventilation.

The Woolpack, London Bridge

Nice beer garden out back and great chicken satay and peanut dipping sauce! Grilled not fried. Still have to try everything else. Oh also I ordered a large shiraz wine and got a huge drinking glass full.. and it was drinkable! :)

Lazy, Tower Bridge

Lazy is just about across the street from me and when I'm lazy that's where I go! Nice decor and high ceilings so the smoke doesn't bother the non-smokers too much. Lots of space instead (could use more tables?) Then again it gives it a cool spartan look. I think we'll go a lot more when there is food. I need food with drinks! (I'm anticipating a non-traditional menu e.g. there are enough bangers and mash about ;). Worth noting that I found the entrance a little difficult to pick out. There was no push plate, entry sign or even a window in the door, so I thought it was a private club for months.

The Rogue Trader, Canary Wharf

Newly renovated and much posher. Food is great but the downstairs pub area is very smokey! The upstairs dining room is smoke free I think and much nicer if you are eating. For sports fans there is a good sized TV. Really good food and value.

The Bridge Lounge and Dining Room, Tower Bridge

Nice pub atmosphere. TV for sports if you like that ;) Nice menu but unfortunatley the kitchen closes at 9:00 so never got to try the food.

The River Bar, Tower Bridge

I didn't think it was anything special really. Not a cozy atmosphere (kind of diner-ish and unwelcoming). Food not bad though for a pub. Not sure what all the fuss is about but sometimes the comments you see are years old when things may have been different. They told me there was no upstairs so not sure about the 'view' comments here either.

The Bridge House, Tower Bridge

Nice upscale atmosphere. Some couches, good wine and interesting menu (not traditional pub fare). Definitely will return.
