Adam and Eve, Westminster

Visited with a friend Sunday lunchtime 30/09/2018

Bar person took several minutes to acknowledge us even though we the only people at the bar.
Couldn't have 1st choice of meal because they had run out of ham. When my alternate choice arrived it was lukewarm. My friends meal was incorrect and had to be sent back. We also noticed that several other peoples orders seemed to be incorrect as well.
Toilets were a disgrace. The ladies was closed as it was out-of-order and the gents was blocked and about to over-flow.
The Abbot was OK but nothing special and the (few) staff seemed friendly enough though rather inefficient.
Would not go back again.

Chequers, Walthamstow

Hallelujah - what Walthamstow has been crying out for for years - a decent pub in the market! Another pub I hadn't been in for fifteen years or more (see The Bell). Good range of well kept beer, friendly staff, lively without being raucous, busy without being rammed - an utter revelation for Walthamstow. Decor is ongoing (particularly the outside) but I'm sure that will improve. Will definitely be going back.

The Bell, Walthamstow

Popped in for a swift one Saturday lunchtime. First time I have been in for 15 years - blimey what an improvement. Friendly staff, very decent beer will definitely go back for a more extended visit.

Shillibeers Brasserie Bar, Holloway

Was in the area for a nearby event, pub was busy (due to aforesaid nearby event). 4 real ales on, tried the Jack & The Dragon which was fine (I prefer a stronger more hoppy brew but then that's just personal preference). Service was reasonably swift. Will definitely go again if (in the very unlikely event) I am ever in the area again.

The Betsey Trotwood, Clerkenwell

Having only discovered this pub within the last year I have visited several times and make a point of going there when I am in the area. This a lovely pub - good beer; food & staff. Live entertainment is an added bonus. The only drawback is that it is a bit small to cater for its (deserved) popularity.

The Slaughtered Lamb, Clerkenwell

Visited 20-10-2010. Not bad at all. More bar than pub but still had some real ale (Directors). Punters predominantly young (which I haven't been for some time) but atmosphere friendly. Staff were attentive and pleasant event though the bar was busy and noisy. Basement gig room a pleasure.
