The Queens Head, Petersfield

wasted a wonderful couple of hours here a couple of Saturdays ago after cycling. through Steep (now on the way to Churt and ultimately Aldershot)..superb beer...especialy "a swift one" (or something like that) a village festival to come...most decent barstaff...the Pub sign is most intriguing...either Picassoid or Anne Boleyn just as the axe was coming down..

The Three Pigeons, Guildford

Still called the Three Pigeons (I think)...popped in for a pint on Saturday to avoid the Cup Final...2.80 for Pride, which is o.k. ...menu looked very tempting and not too pricey ...bit of a wine bar vibe going on ...I thought very nice place to take a lady for a date ...service excellent.

The Three Horseshoes, Thursley

popped in here whilst on a cycling tour last Saturday arvo.Idyllic setting, courteous staff, superb Westons cider (and one other I can't remember),well thought out selection of fine ales.Place was a little quiet due to an important point-to-point nearby ...nice vibe though

The John O'Gaunt Inn, Sutton

I really like this place.Came across it whilst tracing history of my family who lived in the village.
Beer kept well, good honest food at reasonable prices...friendly local village pub with longstanding landlord and landlady

Duke of York, Aldershot

Pub is under new management....ale quality and consistancy vastly improved...gradually being refurbed...no food at present but it is on the cards...well worth a visit, much more "uptogether" than it has been in recent history.

The Crossways Inn, Churt

Some of the best cider i've ever tasted...took a long time cycling back to Aldershot afterwards though!

The William Cobbett, Farnham

surely a Farnham Institution...superb jukebox if you like old R&B,Americana etc.Nice to see Aspalls and Thatchers ciders and the occasional barrel of scrumpy

The Duke of Cambridge, Farnham

used to be great for after hours (private!) sessions in the back bar...ah! those were the days

The Goose, Aldershot

Real Ale recently introduced...and well kept so far!!
Who can argue with cask Tetleys at 1.35 a pint...also Youngs Ordinary at 1.50 and a Youngs (i think)Christmas Ale at 1.99.
Can be a little rough and ready but staff seem to be making an effort by not accepting any nonsense
Can't really comment on food but appears to be good value.
Most staff friendly enough performing in what can be a fairly high pressure envoironment at times

The Garden Gate, Aldershot

Friendly local pub with superbly kept ales, good value honest home cooking and the best live Bluegrass music once a month, also an outdoor covered smoking area.
