The Red Cow, Honiton

This pub closed in 2014. Is in process of being converted to a delicatessen.

The Jeremy Bentham, Bloomsbury

Went to the Bentham earlier this week. My wife informed the barmaid that the hand drier in the ladies was not working. A couple of minutes later, an obnoxious man, who turned out to be the landlord, came over and was most discourteous. He virtually told us to get out and when he saw my CAMRA shirt he said, "and I hate CAMRA members as well".
I will certainly never return to this pub, but on the bright side there are about a thousand better pubs in London to go to. Cest la vie.

The Bricklayers Arms, Copthorne

If you are thinking of going to The Bricklayers, don't bother. Went in this evening, wish I hadn't. Two roomed pub, one room all in darkness, the other with music so loud you couldn't think. Asked for the Black Sheep, told it was off. Then asked for the M&B Mild, guess what? Told it was off. This just left the Bombadier. Asked for a half, but the music being so loud, and the barmaid being so thick, was given a pint. Then just before she finished pulling it the barrel ran out and I had to wait 5 minutes while they changed it. Took it outside to the "beer garden" as it was a nice night, only to be confronted by a man who can only be called The Village Idiot, who harangued me for 5 minutes about the General Election, and Chelsea winning the Premiership. As I said at the start, don't bother.

The Cat Inn, Enville

Called in when passing earlier this week, and what a find. A real old fashioned pub, with real fire, and good food. They were serving Cotleigh "Barn Owl", Saltaire "Cascade Pale Ale", and Enville's "Enville Ale". Will surely be calling in again, and again, when passing.

The Wellington, Birmingham

Went here on a trip to Birmingham with Mrs Wolf on 9th March 2010. Had 16 different beers on, including a very nice Kinver Ales "Full Centurion" at 10%. Excellent pub, can't wait for my next visit.

Montgomery's Tower, Shrewsbury

Popped in yesterday as they have their beer festival on at the moment. Five or six guest ales were on, including a very palatable York Breweries "Coppergate". Much better, and cleaner, than its sister hotel (The Shewsbury Hotel) just around the corner.

The Abbey, Shrewsbury

Went earlier in the week with Mrs Wolf, and it is a clean, decent pub, but entirely soulless. Good selection of beers on though including Wags to Witches and Keltek's Magik. Food menu didn't look too inspiring though. Worth an occasional visit for the different beers.

The Wheatsheaf, Shrewsbury

Nice old pub, but not much room to be served, as a lot of locals stand at the small bar area. The food we had was really tasty and very reasonably priced. Bers on offer included Hosons Mild, Marston's Old Empire, Brakspears Oxford Gold and Jennings Cocker Hoop. All in all a very enjoyable pub, and especially nice to sit outside on the street in the summer and watch the world go by over a few pints.

The Three Fishes, Shrewsbury

Called at the Fishes yesterday while in town. What a great pub, with old beams and a more mature clientele. The beer choice was excellent, with Bishops Farewell, Tim Taylors Landlord, Bath Ales Gem, Hobsons Mild, Thornbridge Wild Swan, and an excellent pint of Sharps Doom Bar. Always friendly staff and the food is very good too.
