My wife had her works Christmas lunch here and the main course of turkey was dry as old harry. Most of the vegetables were hard and not properly cooked Only one small roll served with a large blob of pate for the starter.
Wont go back there in a hurry

The Horse and Jockey, Aylesbury
This is a nice pub in Aylesbury and we went in here after a break of a year and still found it to be good. 2 young people were serving and they done well.
My wife liked her gammon steak though my chicken curry didnt taste much like chicken.
Still would recommend though.

This pub is now open again. Be interesting to see if it stays that way !!

It would seem that this pub could have reached the end of the road as its now up for sale for 300,000 + VAT, and seems to be closed during the day.
Whether or not it has a viable trade to be profitable is doubtful with the changing demographic situation ( Most of the soldiers from the local MOD site next to it, and who used it have now gone ).
Shame though if another pub closes

We were back to have breakfast after a docs appointment, and the value for money continues. The landlord say that the customers just aren't coming in. 2.99 for a mega breakfast which includes toast and coffee.
If people can't be attracted with this then what hope is there? The people running this pub have put a huge amount of effort into giving value for money and a friendly service, so it'd be a shame if it all came to nothing.
If this place can't survive then all pubs are in danger.
The beer is good too by the way. We can only keep our fingers crossed for them.

This pub is trying its hardest to suvive during the "Credit Crunch", with 2 meals for 5 and a mega breakfast for about 2.75
Good luck to them !!

Nice friendly pub.
Just been in once, but first impressions are of a friendly clean pub with good service and beer.

When we went to order our meals at the bar we said we wanted the alternatives to chips, but the bad tempered bar - maid said she already had put the order through and it couldn't be changed.
Later on a woman who knew her asked why she was in such a bad mood to which she replied " I don't want to be here !!"
So be warned as to what kind of "welcome" you will get at "The Hungry Horse"

This pub is a non - smoking one, and so if you like a place where your not drowned in smoke and can taste your food then this is a place for you.
The beers are adequate, staff are friendly, but the meal we had there one lunchtime was the best pub meal we have ever had. There were loads of proper vegetables..Broccolli, cauliflower, leeks, none of the usual spoonful of peas. Theres not really much space, but the atmosphere is good. Definitely worth a visit.

Don't know how this "dive" manages to survive - if you have any self respect at all avoid like the plague !!
