The NW1, Camden

The last time i went in here it was really bad. There was loud pumping trance and a few chavs hanging around. Needless to say i didn't stay long. Can't remember what the beer was like but i don't think it really matters with an atmosphere like this.
Avoid - 2/10

The Dublin Castle, Camden

The Dublin Castle is good fun but like the other pubs in the area of this type can be a bit busy on Fri & Sat nights. Get there early if you want a seat!
There is a good crowd and a good atmosphere. The jukebox is great but the beer isn't always up to scratch.

The Spread Eagle, Camden

Ok boozer i guess. Has some good beers and shows the football and the rugby. It's good for a relaxing pint and quite comfy. The drinkers are slightly older than some of the other pubs around here.

The Worlds End, Camden

If you are a Camden tourist you will probably flock to this pub.
The main bar area is badly designed but i have seen worst. Quite a caverous pub and lacks a certain atmosphere. It's ok if you are in a big group though.

The Camden Eye, Camden

A small pub that is quite dindgy with little atmosphere. There is little to say about this pub. Ok if you want a quite drink. Beer was ok but i generally use it to meet and move on - an advantage of being small i suppose, you can't miss anyone.
Ditinctly average 5/10

The Oxford Arms, Camden

Quite a run-of-the-mill Camden affair. The beer is ok and it's good fr watching the football. The pub quiz is ok and not too hard to baffle all and sundry. Thats about it really - 6/10

The Good Mixer, Camden

I have mixed feeling about the Good Mixer. I find the times when it's too packed a bit of a headache (Friday and Saturday nights). I was there from New Year and it got to be far to busy for my liking (Although they didn't charge to get in unlike most other places). Generally it's good fun though and the clientele are a good bunch. The jukebox is excellent with a good selection of new and old indie and classics.
The standard on the pool tables is usually good - ie i usually lose (although i am not a bad player!)
Would reccommend - 8/10

The Elephants Head, Camden

If you don't like this pub you have got to check your pulse. There are some great characters there and some really good music. Check out the DJ on Sunday afternoon. He plays some really good Northern soul.
Granted the beer isn't up to much but that's not what this pub is about. Come for the atmosphere and not to sample fine ales!
