The Black Horse Inn, Pimlico

excellent "food needed" pub

15 Apr 2008 14:25

Potion Bar, Fitzrovia

not a bad place but you can end up getting stuck behind 5 giggling airhead media blondes trying to decide what cocktail they want

15 Apr 2008 14:22

The Fitzrovia, Goodge Street

ok pub gets very crowded these days

15 Apr 2008 14:20

Red Lion, Monument

went recently and its deffinatly a pub in decline

15 Apr 2008 14:19

The Railway Tavern, Liverpool Street

possibly the best station pub around. good layout and shows the sport. a benchmark for station pubs but not one i'd go out of my way for

15 Apr 2008 14:09

The Hamilton Hall, Liverpool Street

usual withersh$te fair avoid it

15 Apr 2008 14:07

The Reef Bar, Victoria Station

come the pro drinking revolution the people who create bars like this will be the first up against the wall. why oh why. station pubs are never great but this takes it to a new level. stick to the iron duke or shakespere. my god it must be bad if i am saying that

15 Apr 2008 14:04

The Sloe Bar, Victoria Station

just awfull

15 Apr 2008 14:01

Gordon's Wine Bar, Charing Cross

outstanding wine bar. this is what wine bars should be about. spit and sawdust atmosphere with a proper selection of port, sherry, wine by the bottle not just a designer glass and steel covered room with a couple of bottles of blue nun. staff are excellent and knowledgeable i can not rate this place high enough just make sure you dont want a beer as they dont serve it

15 Apr 2008 13:58

The Princess of Wales, Charing Cross

reasonable pub and one of the better in this area of very poor pubs can get a little over crowded

15 Apr 2008 13:54

Boadicea, Charing Cross Station

only for the desperate but at least its an option for a quick heart starter whilst waiting for teh train

15 Apr 2008 13:53

The Selkirk, Tooting

just recently returned to this pub due to the refurb at the KH and its still as good as ever. good crowd good booze and good food with the added bonus of bar billiards. remains the best in tooting by some way. only thin i'd change about the place is to make it half a mile closer to my flat!

15 Apr 2008 13:48

The Bec Bar, Tooting Bec

utter rubbish. this is the sort of place that is killing good bars and pubs. rediculously small and badly laid out standard alchol range at slightly inflated price tried the food once and it was poor and overpriced. it is doing well at the moment but one suspects this is due to the KH being closed for refurb. as i have said before about the smoke bar which is looking for similar clients if this is the sort of place you want to go to then go up the road to clapham where they do it so much better. its a shame as i live almost next door but i'd rather walk to Balham or down to the KH/Frog

15 Apr 2008 13:43

Kiss Me Hardy, Colliers Wood

its on an industrial estate. need i say any more!

18 Oct 2007 16:14

Point 101, Bloomsbury

went here a few weeks ago having read about a refurb! refurb what refurb was teh same as it was 10 years ago. if they keep it like that a bit longer it will come back into fashion. booze is expensive as plus points you can drink here after hours and it never gets crowded

10 Aug 2007 17:03

The Walkabout, Embankment

not as bad as many walkabouts. you will get hassled by bingo winged aussie girls but its a good size and never feels that busy. not a bad option for an afternoon skiving work to watch the cricket

10 Aug 2007 16:55

The Slug and Lettuce, Bank

usuall s&l rubbish. occupied but overweight city girls nursing over a bottle of wine. avoid

10 Aug 2007 16:51

Deacons, City Of London

solid boozer populated mainly by traine city types and builders. one to start but never finish an evening in. good for sport, warm summer evenings and a game of pool avoid if your on the hunt though its usually a male only place

10 Aug 2007 16:49

Abacus, Bank

to busy and up its own arse on thursday and friday but reasonable for a late one earlier in the weeek. its a girls bar really and bit of a meat market. there are worst bars around to be fair but not really a place for the pro drinker

10 Aug 2007 16:45

Doggetts Coat and Badge, Southwark

average office pub approach only when very drunk. on the plus side i did pick up a very fine filly a few years ago here but still doesnt make up for the place

10 Aug 2007 16:40

The King and Queen, Fitzrovia

a former work haunt, always good for a beer, friendly local feel if you want to avoid the media lot. gets my thumbs up

8 Mar 2007 17:04

The Coal Hole, Strand

stable pub not an all night location but always part of a crawl.

8 Mar 2007 16:52

The Black Horse, Fitzrovia

good little boozer always popular in the summer

8 Mar 2007 16:50

Ben Crouch's Tavern, Fitzrovia

real tack but fun with it, i am bit of a fan of it. good food and its fairly spacious. a good on the blitz friday night pub before heading into the dump that is hombres to get laid

8 Mar 2007 16:48

The Theodore Bullfrog, Charing Cross

not very friendly and nothing special but i have found it usefull if there is a group of you and you want to sit and chat midweek as it rarely gets busy compared to the rest of the locals. to be honest its an average pub in an area with little quality on the drinking scale

8 Mar 2007 16:46

The Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross

not bad, certainly one of the better in the area. resonable booze. wouldnt go out of my way for it

8 Mar 2007 16:41

The Bell And Compass, Charing Cross

its still the griffin and all the crap that went with that place. it serves a purpose as somewhere to meet the uneducated in londons drinking establishments as its easy to find

8 Mar 2007 16:39

All Bar One, Charing Cross

utter crap, only for the kent comuter brigade who never venture more than 6 foot from the station. been forced to go here on many occasions it must be the most inefficent use of space ever, overpriced and crowded. not for the pro drinker

8 Mar 2007 16:36

The Namco Station bar, Waterloo

only for the desperate.

8 Mar 2007 16:32

The Hole In The Wall, Waterloo

best pub in the waterloo area, out of the way and a superb haunt for sneaking off from work for a couple of afternoon heart starters. smokey and no frills but the service is good and it shows the sport. it will definatly be used by myself for sneaking off to see the cricket in the next few weeks

8 Mar 2007 16:30

The Fire Station, Waterloo

crap pub, always to busy not helped by the fact that they seem to rope of half the place terrible slow service. you can stand out side then get harrassed by some scotish wino. great fun!

8 Mar 2007 16:27

The Mortimer Arms, Bloomsbury

it was always where we started when i worked up there as it was cheap and lively but its not somewhere i'd go out of my way to visit

23 Feb 2007 17:53

The Marlborough Arms, Tottenham Court Road

was a regular of mine whilst working in the area and its a good pub for that purpose but wouldn't go out of my way to visit

23 Feb 2007 17:51

The Puzzle, Westminster

usual puzzle crap okay if you go in tanked up and can bear the crowd

23 Feb 2007 17:42

The White Horse and Bower, Westminster

average pub with not a lot of atmosphere have found the food expensive and disapointing

23 Feb 2007 17:40

The Barley Mow, Westminster

was a regular here for two years and have just visited after a year away and found it as good as ever. steel stuff at least the toilets which were amongst the worst in london have improved. always found the staff excellent if not the best looking but there is always good banter going on. plenty of local types to chew the fat with. for me its a place with a lot of good memories but i dont think they needed to add the stainless. food is ok for the price and better value then the puzz or white heart

23 Feb 2007 17:39

The Rose and Crown, Tooting Bec

good little pub for locals but not one i would go out of my way for. its deffinatly the best in tooting for a quiet beer

23 Feb 2007 17:27

Gordon Bennett, Tooting Broadway

stable in the week avoid the sat night crowd

23 Feb 2007 17:25

The Wheatsheaf, Tooting Bec

bit of a rough diamond. not the place to go in a suit after work but if your face fits its not bad

23 Feb 2007 17:24

A Bar 2 Far, Tooting Broadway

used to be a good late drinking option on a sunday or thursday in particular. avoid on friday and saturday nights at all costs when the chav brigade come out to play. stupid dress code.

23 Feb 2007 17:22

The Castle, Tooting Broadway

the best in tooting especially since the kings head fell by the wayside. a regulars type pub with that kind of feel which some might not like but i've always found it an efficent good place for a midweek drink
