The White Hart, Huntingdon

Went for lunch and the two burgers we ordered were OK but my rack of ribs was half frozen under a layer of hot sauce. Not thanks! Sent it back. Not impressed.

Nice enough, food is usually good (can be cold sometimes...) nice range of beers. Suffers from not having a proper landlord/lady. A bit lacking in atmosphere. Occasionally they play piped music (oh no). They managed to get the balance between cafe/restaurant/pub right though. Local artists exhibit. Occasional live music. Pretty quiet during the week.

The Radcliffe Arms, Hitchin

My rating is a bit harsh but this is not really a pub. It might have been once but now it is more a restaurant who does beer at one end. Not eaten here so can't comment on the grub. Beer was OK but upper end of price band.

Molly Malone's, Hitchin

Great pub, proper landlord, decent beer, music good. The Open Mic night is particular fun. Has sporting events on too. No neon, fake tans or expensive bottled lager, and long may it stay that way.

The Jerusalem Tavern, Clerkenwell

Fabulous beer and really friendly. Revoltingly smokey though as there is no ventilation and it is a small place. Deffo worth a visit tho'.

Cock, St Albans

Food quite good according to my wife - though bar staff tend to ignore you whilst doing important things like moving glasses around. Beer OK. We walked out after being ignored for the second time.

The Mermaid, St Albans

Excellent real pub - the only thing I don't like is it gets really smokey - a bit of ventilation would make it so much nicer. Excellent draught Tiger. Live music - good tho' deafeningly loud!

Bar 62, St Albans

The food is good but expensive, the chice of beer more limited than under the previous owners but still worth going to - sunday to thursday if you're over 35 - weekends it is full of people drinking pre mixed cocktails and green "shots".

The Blacksmiths Arms, St Albans

The Blacksmiths used to be an excellent pub but sadly it is now deafening music, poor beer and tacky neon signs and lights everywhere. Tragic loss of the nicest town centre pub.

The Farriers Arms, St Albans

The beer here is excellent but it is a very cliquy pub - both staff and locals are matey with each other but don't make non-regulars feel very comfortable. 8 for the beer, 4 for the atmosphere

The Portland Arms, St Albans

Friendly pub. No smoking area out the back. Excellent Fullers and good grub in the evenings - acoustic based music free on Sunday nights is fun too.
