The Arkley Hotel, Barnet

booked a table here last week for a birthday. Booked for 4pm and only got the table at 4.30. At 4.45 they came to take our order and when we ordered the sunday roasts we were told they had run out. Why did they give us the menus if they were close to running out , we were a group of 10 people so they should have known better?

Waiter had the I cant be bothered attitude, manager was not very helpful or apologetic either.
Having read other reviews I wish i hadnt bothered with this place, a complete let down.

Staff are rude and unhelpful and dont know what good customer service is. Dont bother going here unless desperate, other reviews imply food is microwaved so I m guessing we didnt miss much.

Definately going to avoid this place from now on.

The Mother Red Cap, Archway

Was in here on a sun lunchtime and had the sandwiches - they sorted my hangover! Been in here on a few evenings - friendly place nice meeting spot

The Archway Tavern, Archway

I have never been here sober. It is always a case of wake up the next morning and say was I in Cheekos last night - how did that happen. Well it is one of those good idea at the time places. Could do with a bt of a clean up - place reminded me of Diceys another hmm good at the time ideas. Cheekos could be good in the right hands - staff were not very good bouncers could be more friendly..see why everyone walks down the road to the quays.

The Galway Hooker, Neasden

Dirty Diceys, I unfortunately ventured further from my doorstep to try out this place and only found out that it was still dirty, blocked toilets, no loo roll, poor service and I paid to get in..why oh why?

Finnegans Wake, Neasden

The Twelve Pins, Finsbury Park

Thought food was good here but have to say they have competition as I have found even better. Nice pub for a few drinks with mates, can get a bit chilly when the air conditioning is on though

17 Jan 2006 16:10

The Antigallican, Charlton

Not been here for years now but used to be an excellent meeting place - was never busy when we went which was usually in the evening. Guess it gets busy on match days but should be busy other days - from what I remember this is a big pub and does have potential

17 Jan 2006 16:07

Trafalgar Tavern, Greenwich

Nice pub but gets too busy which is a shame. Good location. They really need to sort out the ladies toilets there are not enough considering how busy this place can get.

17 Jan 2006 16:03

Goose, Wood Green

Drinks were cheap busy even on the one lunchtime that I went - had a good time in there, people left us alone which was a welcome change! Good place to go before Ice skating!!!!!!

17 Jan 2006 15:59

The Nelson, Wood Green

Went there about 11.30 so yes full of drunken fools and I was one of them - I shouda gone to the Quays instead

17 Jan 2006 15:57

Monaghan's Tavern, Wood Green

The Slug and Lettuce, St Albans

oops meant to say it could do with a lick of paint.

The Slug and Lettuce, St Albans

What has happened to this place. Was in here last Sat lunchtime and the place is dirty and smelly. The route to the toilets reeked of stale smoke and generally the place could do with a good lick or pain and a polish.

17 Jan 2006 15:43

The Crooked Billet, Colney Heath

Ok but prefer the colney fox. Took ages to get food in the summer, actually we were asked to go and get our own food...service hmmm

17 Jan 2006 15:42

The Village, Muswell Hill

Last time I went in here I got charged a pound to get in. What it was for I am not sure, anyone have any ideas? Bouncers said it was for charity so maybe but I dont think they should collect on the door. Might try this place out again see if it has changed much but I doubt it

17 Jan 2006 15:39

The Tally Ho, North Finchley

This pub has always been popular with students and why not - cheap drink can get busy but good starting off place

17 Jan 2006 15:35

O'Neills, North Finchley

Chav land - I like O neils but not this one I got asked for ID then when I went inside it was full of kids. Friend got refused to be served at the bar and the barmaid was all of about 22, friend is 31. Ah maybe its because we werent young enough. Muswell hill O neils is better

17 Jan 2006 15:33

The Erris Tavern, North Finchley

Its good in here - well what I can remember always had a good time in here no attitude unlike other pubs in finchley

17 Jan 2006 15:30

La Zeez, North Finchley

Never going back here - went on a sat hassle getting in hassle getting served, clientelle were just pure shabby - couldnt wait to get out

17 Jan 2006 15:28

The Wishing Well, Palmers Green

Wishing wells always seem the same to me but this is not a bad place to go on a sunday evening. Saying that though I think the fox might be providing competition - they had a good Irish band in there the other sunday and they even played the national anthem. I have not heard that since the National.

17 Jan 2006 15:26

O'Connors Freehouse, Palmers Green

Pub was always too smokey staff were rude especially at closing time,(Im sure it changed hands and the new lot ruined the place)not missing it at all.

17 Jan 2006 15:22

The Inn on the Green, Palmers Green

This pub is too long and narrow, people in here are not as friendly as the crowd in the fox - not been in here since the fox has opened and doubt I will be rushing back

17 Jan 2006 15:20

The Fox Public House, Palmers Green

Much better than what it used to be like and probably the best in Palmers Green. They do a good sunday dinner shame I got there too late and my brother got the last one. I'll be back!

17 Jan 2006 15:19

The Claddagh Ring, Hendon

I got asked if I spoke english in this place. Clientelle has changed from what it used to be. Even with DJ Terry in there I don't think they can draw the crowd from the Quays

17 Jan 2006 15:16

Potemkin, Farringdon

Nice vodkas especially the chocolate one. Shame it finished early, slightly pricey but nice for a change

17 Jan 2006 15:14

The Cherry Tree, North Finchley

this place used to be rammed years ago then went completely downhill. Went in there once and it was dirty and depressing, no idea what it is like now guess it wont be long before it changes again

6 Nov 2005 19:12

The Catcher in the Rye, Finchley

used to like this place on a weekday, about 10 yrs ago.McGuire - whats ya verdict now if it has been done up??

6 Nov 2005 19:08

The Fine Line, Clapham

I didnt even know the doubles were doubles couldnt taste any alcohol with all the ice in the drink. No atomosphere in here, dull but clean

6 Nov 2005 19:06

The Fine Line, Canary Wharf

too busy, nowhere to sit, too hot, took ages to get served.

6 Nov 2005 19:03

Henry Addington, Canary Wharf

the night was a blur. Maybe it was the smoke!

6 Nov 2005 19:01

All Bar One, Canary Wharf

Went on a Tuesday night, busy but luckily I managed to find a seat. Few odd characters in there especially the guy that looked like he was trying to hump the table leg. Staff were good - no problems getting served.

6 Nov 2005 18:59

The Drummonds Bar, Canary Wharf

A lot cheaper than the City Pride, odd building only been in once during lunchtime - heard bad things about this place so tend to avoid it.

6 Nov 2005 18:00

The City Pride, Isle of Dogs

staff are very friendly, nice in summer although it would be better if they did table service outside in the summer.

6 Nov 2005 17:54

O'Neills, Angel, Islington

Not as friendly as the Quays but better than a lot of the other oneils

6 Nov 2005 16:16
