The Sun Inn, Buxton

visited for first time with long lost friends not seen for 4 years. Had a very nice meal in an excellent enviroment - waitress was first class and food good - a good choice of real ales.

despite finishing meal reasonably early we were allowed to remain in the area and left at 12.30 am (not pushed out either)

An excellent evening all round

Dun Cow, Sunderland

very friendley pub - normal beers no real ale but "Sauce of the Niall" a very nice local stout. Big Screen and TV free nibbles and very friendly and fast service - very busy on matchday but a great atmosphere although it was St Patricks Day!!!

Peel Park Hotel, Accrington

top pub- standing next to the old accrinton stanley football ground (now playing field)this is a must for the sporting "anorak". Lots of memorabilia covering all sports and more important a real friendly pub. 5 real ales + usual tetleys guiness etc good value bar snacks and a pleasant atmosphere. Found it hard to drag myself away!!!.

The Prince George, Thornton Heath

visiting away fan - how nice to see a board outside saying Hull fans welcome. Staff extremely friendly but aren't most irish people. Could do with a few real ales but when you want to pass time before kick off this is as good as anywhere with live football on big screen and friendly locals.

Good town centre pub handy for the riverside
As a visiting fan surprised to see good mix of home and away fans and very friendly on the evening. Good bar staff and quick to serve

The Cork and Cheese Ale House, Southend on Sea

Why this pub is situated in a heap of a place like southend I do not know. Only just found it due to the concrete jungle of Victoria Plaza being under either refurbishment or demolition (not quite sure which) but once inside felt quite at home. Barman very friendly, good choice of ales but only 3 real ales on view and one had been drunk. Memorabilia in the pub is great with walls decked with bottled beers, pictures, awards, beer pump labels and interesting road signs!!! A good ambience and recommended if only it was somewhere else other than SOUTHEND!!!!

The Red House, Longstowe

Called in on a long trip to southend - very friendly staff and excellent food at favouable prices for quantity supplied. Nice log fire and good seating area. Barman was from my home town in hull so conversation flowed. recommend visit any time.

Wetherspoons, South Oxhey

Ventured in due to beer festival being on - choice of 12 different cask ales - typical weatherspoons full of the "all dayers" stumbling about and leering at all in view. Service was slow but simply due to lack of staff for number of customers in pub. Nothing to attract other than beer festival - place to avoid on normal days

Sloanes, Leicester

visit this pub every time I watch footie in Leicester, friendly bar staff unusual decor and furniture but the place to be for a real selection of good cask ales (over 10 on display on last visit). Well worth a visit

The One Bell, Watford

visited on football travels - friendly pub and bar staff but no cask ales - nice pub but no good to the real ale drinker

The Crown Inn, Stockport

Under new ownership and the difference has been noticed - pub cleaned from "head to toe" and new management team and bar staff are the best. Excellent and wide range of beers which are changed on a regular basis. Open 7 days a week on a lunchtime now - visit and see the difference.
