Gynn Hotel, Blackpool

Visited pub when staying with family up in Blackpool. Food was cheap and of low standard. Prefer Whetherspoon's. Beer was nothing special but then it's a sports-based pub judging by the amount of Sky screens. Polite staff.

The Antelope Inn, Wareham

I think this page would be a more positive place if people simply restricted themselves to reviewing the pub based on their experiences as a customer. The locals' tirades shown here (from both sides) only serve to demean themselves and devalue this website.

It is a shame that some commenters' intentions regarding this website appear to be to register for the sole purpose of arguing over this one pub. Perhaps they could take the time to review other pubs they have visited and make the site even more useful for everyone?

Museum Inn, Farnham

I took my cherished other here for Valentine's a couple of years back and found it to be excellent. We were in the shed out back, perhaps it was called The Barn, but I didn't think it was expensive for the quality of the food.

The only trouble in the Barn was everyone within ten feet could hear our intimate conversation, which I suppose is like verbal swinging, but I would have preferred a bit more confidentiality on our night for lovers. The Landlord beer was indeed excellent, nearly as good as that at The Coventry Arms down at Corfe.

Just realised I'm reviewing this as a restaurant, so no rating given.

Greyhound Inn, Blandford Forum

I don't go in here often, but last time (around October) the cider was well kept, the staff were friendly and the pub was warm and well-kept. Whaddya want, blood?

Drax Arms, Spetisbury

Always on the verge of closure, the Drax is the stereotypical local before they became gastro bars for townies. A bit of a ramshackle pub, yes, but I defy anyone not to have a great time when the place livens up on the weekend evenings, especially after a local show. Spetisbury does have a strong social network and I have always found that welcoming, not a closed shop.

Great prices under the new regime and well-looked after beer. Haven't tried the food yet but they are aggressively advertising special offers, which (I guess) means the income is predominantly on the booze.

The cider festival is great too, held on the pub grounds yearly.

Long may The Drax survive!

Cricketers, Blandford Forum

Much better after the changes behind the scenes. A lovely village pub, good atmosphere and great quiz nights.

The Dolphin, Blandford Forum

Best pub in Blandford!

Three Choughs, Blandford

Everyone tells me how dodgy this pub is but I've never seen any trouble. The beers is regularly "off" (perhaps not a surprise given their standard clientele's love of the lagers?), and the quality of the sports screenings is poor, but the pub building is very atmospheric and has a wonderful layout.

The Royal Oak, Milborne St. Andrew

I quite liked it till it closed down. Good luck, Simon and Sue!

Railway Hotel, Blandford Forum

The Railway has the largest range of attractions that I have ever seen in a pub, the only thing they haven't tried is a Wii but maybe I missed it. Good beer, lively atmosphere, great quality sports thanks to Sky HD, band & open mic nights, quizzes, pool tables, it's all going on. Long may it continue!

The True Lovers Knot, Tarrant Keyneston

We visited True Lovers' Knot a couple of weeks ago in a party of eight including our kids. The food was fine for the price. My experience was spoiled by being charged 1.70 for a dash of lime in a pint of tap water. The barmaid's attitude to my questioning of this price put me off returning if an alternative is possible. Shame, since it's in nice grounds and the beer is OK.

Don't know about the new Hall & Woodhouse uniform rustic kitting-out of their pubs though, it all comes across as too corporate for me. O Lord where is the humanity?
