The Wishing Well, Hayes

What happened to the Irish guy who used to run the place?

Flynn's, West Ealing

Following my comment on the 3rd May, I have been there since and have discovered that the man in charge used to be in charge of Flynns at Hayes End (my local pub) - he did a very good job of turning a poor boozer into a good one so I am prepared to wait and see what happens!

Went there last night for the first time in a while to discover that the landlord has changed and it appears that the quality of custom has deteriorated - it looked like a fight was gonna occur at any second! Also, the decor looked a little tatty - the scaffolding outside didn't help either - I will be reluctant to visit again!

The Pontefract Castle, Marylebone

Can't comment on thieves but thought the place was very good and, most importantly to an impoverished soul like myself, was extremely cheap - two pints (one Fosters and one a decent Green King) came to 5!

The Great Western, Hayes

They occasionally have a singer on but I haven't known a band for a year or so.....

The Carpenters Arms, Hayes

Recently had a refit - not bad - is now very much a young persons pub - plenty of TV screens and pool tables! and, strangely, an L-shaped pool table.

awful service? it was a little busy last night and there was delay at times at the bar, but I wouldn't have said the barstaff were awful!

The new manageress seems to have sorted the bar staff problem out, the only ones left are the good ones! I'm disappointed that the Tetley still hasn't gone down in price - I spose it was a cheap attempt to get cheaper beer! I still don't think some sort of special offer would go amiss....

The Hut, Uxbridge

Played darts there last night - excellent refit! Good atmosphere, plenty of space to get lost in a corner if you want a quiet drink with your other half and good tv watching space if your ou with the boys to watch the football! Also a big garden with play area for the kids. Would recommend to anybody. Has live music some weekends as well. Definitely worth a vist!

Been drinking there for years on and off, and it is much better than it has ever been - I think the staff need a permanent manager to look after them - the current manager is only temporary - perhaps the new manageress will whip them into shape! Would benefit from a special offer on one of the beer and lagers - say 1.70 a pint of Tetleys? I'd drink twice as much then......got to be worth a try!
