Small and narrow pub, popular with locals and tourists alike. Built into the old town walls at the five arches. It doesn't take many people in there to give it a great atmosphere with music and sports adding to the noisy mix. No food...just beer ! No nonsense boozer, worth a visit.

Nice traditional pub oak-beamed pub with a reasonable, if unimaginative, menu. I wouldn't call the food cheap but it is hot and the portions are decent. The smallish bar area can get a bit crowded with regs but thats not so bad. Some of the furniture could definitley do with a refurb but a large garden with goldfish and terrapin populated pond (keep your eye on your toddlers) and plenty of parking make it nice in the summer. I'd be happy if it was my local.

I like this pub and have been there a couple of dozen or so times and never had a bad experience. It is mostly my default starting venue when I go into Dartford. The beer is Wethers-cheap and so is the food. Staff are friendly enough (though it can seem under-staffed at times) and while Jamie Oliver would probably sneer at the menu, for the money you cannot complain. The last roast I had there (pork - new to the menu) was excellent though the carrots were a bit overdone - as usual !
It has a central location (being an ex high st bank) nice relaxed atmosphere, a couple of non-intrusive screens that show Sky News and is generally well patronized by young, old and er�medium alike. The smoking ban has done this place a lot of favours - it seems cleaner and less chavvy and overall has a good atmosphere in my opinion
They have recently added �Friends� style comfy sofas which are a welcome addition.. There are other different types of seating too so you can find a cosy corner to chat with your girlfriend or a big table to chill with your mates.
A good place � no complaints at all (except for those carrots�.)

The Litten Tree, Dartford
Three times they wouldn't let me in as I had jeans on, trainers on, though why is beyond me as it's hardly the Ritz. When I did finally get in, I took one look around at the pissed-up losers slumped over the dirty tables and walked straight out. Never again.
