The Savoy Tup, Strand

I think the friendly / unfriendly debate on the Savoy Tup is asy to decipher. Going in wearing an antiwr t shirt amongst a gaggle of suits I got a really warm welcome from the barmaids and priority service! Perhaps their attitude to punters is determined by the attitude they get from the clients. Certainly when a loads of suits are watching the football in there, the staff's spirits must droop.

The George, London Bridge

Could do with re-designing the seating lay out especially in the rooms furthest from the road. It's currently difficult to get a seat most of the time, and as an earlier reviewer mentioned - there's no atmosphere down that end. Shame, it wouldn't take a lot to turn it around, as well as a bit of barstaff training!

The Big Chill Bar, Shoreditch

I go here quite a bit because I work in the same building and can't stand the Vibe Bar!

Evenings early in the week are great to sitr about with a drink and have a chat, Thursday to Sunday are very different - you'll be lucky to get a seat, but there is qality music, but there's no real excuse for the cost of a pint of lager - OUCH!

If you have a problem with the clientel - go elsewhere.

93 Feet East, Shoreditch

Calm down, people! It's not a place for sampling fine beers, it's a spot where people go on the pull and to get legless on a weekend. Don't think it ever has claimed to be a pub in the real sense of the word. Have some excellent new music playing live, DJs for people who like that kinda thing and plenty of outside seating.

Along with it's neighbours, Vibe Bar, Big Chill and Corbets Place the Old Truman Brewery complex boasts the most outside drinking seats in any one area that I can think off.

and there's not a lot to stop you from bringing your own!!

The Hare and Billet, Blackheath

Nice place - one of the few pubs in Blackheath that don't plonk a couple of heavies at the front door at the weekends so wins points for that. Applaud the lack of blaring music too.

Big up the Hairy Billet!

The Water Poet, Shoreditch

this place will always rake it in on Thursday and Friday evenings thanks to the suits that use it. It seems to be wavering between a trendy Shoreditch place or a city boozer.

I don't like either of the options, so that's why i go there every now and then, although it's veering towards the suits at the mo.
