The Bear, Crickhowell

Had the best meal here on our recent visit to Wales..we hadn't booked on a busy Sunday lunchtime but easily found a table...fast , efficient service , good ales and excellent food in a cosy, rambling building.

The Lamb, Nyetimber

10 of us had lunch here on sunday after walking...good range of beers and wine list but not many wines by the glass - and difficult to get details of them. The food was good - when it came - good range of choices, tasty and nice fresh veg
BUT the service was very slow. Too few staff (or people who knew what they were doing ) half of us had finished their meals by the time the last persons meal arrived - then we had to wait for the veg...and the place wasnt even full!

The Bakers Arms, Droxford

Just recently reopened by new owners. He is the chef and has experience with some famous names. The food is excellent and uses locally supplied ingredients.
She has refurbished the pub in a simple but traditional style.
There are some good local real ales.
We are determined to go back ther - do try it!
