Went to the pub on my birthday before heading off to to Camden. A really nice friendly pub, and it didn't feel jammed like the Oxford up the road.
Bar Staff were nice and friendly and very patient.. Especially when I serenaded one particular barmaid just before we left..

The Maid of Muswell, Muswell Hill
The busiest pub in the world, frequented by Muswell Hillbillies who cant be bothered to walk up the hill.
Decor is great, beer better than most, I just wish it wasn't so busy all the time.
If you live more towards Bounds Green try The Ranelegh as well.

Ha Ha Bar and Canteen, Muswell Hill
If posing in the kind of way only a north london princesses can do this is your place.Make sure you extend your overdraft before going in, most of the high street banks are within a minutes walk....

Noticed in one of those new free ldn newspapers that this is the best place to watch the big international/premiership games in north london.True if your with your mates but probably not if you want a quiet one with your loved one.
If you haven't got a loved one probably a good to place to find one..

The problem with Muswell Hill and its Temperance movement past is there are no good traditional boozers. This pub is OK and bar staff are friendly.
At least they stop the local teenage toe-rags coming in with there over 21 door policy, so they all pile down to O'Neills
The 241 pizzas are great by the way

The Orange Tree, Friern Barnet
Absolute hole,full of chav kids.
There are no decent pubs in Friern Barnet.Somebody would make a mint if they opened one in the N11/N12 area.

Popped in for a saturday afternoon pint and was pleasently surprised, good range of beer and at a reasonable price. There hardly any pubs in the area so its worth a go if you can't be bothered take a trip to Muswell Hill, Fincley or Southgate.

A nice friendly pub in a wasteland for pubs.Has been done up recently although this hasnt turned it into a gastro pub like others have commented

Really good atmosphere and the landlord and regulars are very welcoming. Not pretending to be anything it is'nt.

Ok this pub doesn't have a great deal of competition in Holloway/Archway if trendyish bars are your thing but it ain't too bad.
Always a goodish atmsophere and food is popular. I saw Venessa Feltz with her personal trainer boyfriend having row in the restaurant bit which kind of made my evening complete

The Assembly House, Kentish Town
Quite like it in here, can get busy prior to a gig at the Forum, but not bad and more space than the Oxford down the road. Not one for connisseurs of great draught ale though.

Nice bar, not a pub though, a relaxed bar/cafe/restaurant type thing really and food is very nice

Was very very scared, the landlord was nice in a kind of not sure whether he's going to turn at any point. The best bit was the pyscho trying to catch me eye so he could kill me I assume. Not one for the faint hearted. On the plus side you can get a pint of guiness for 2.00.

The Lord Palmerston, Dartmouth Park
This my favourite pub in the bit of NW5 I live in.Would get top marks if it wasn't for the price of a round. Still they are very welcoming and canine friendly judging from the 4 dogs in there the other night.

The Junction Tavern, Kentish Town
Can't add much to whats already been said apart from the staff are very friendly and the garden is great in the summer. Try it out if you're going to be in the area.

The Catcher in the Rye, Finchley
The best pub/bar in this part of Finchley. Staff are very friendly and the atmosphere is much better than the chav infested holes further up the road.
