Finn M'Coul's, Falmouth

Nancy did run this pub about 6 years ago! Finn's is an ok place to go if you want somewhere quiet or fancy a hot chocolate during the day in the winter. There's not much atmosphere but if you go with friends you can create your own. Good place to start drinkign if you're moving onto somewhere else.

The Alfred Herring, Palmers Green

Another Wetherspoon pub in the area. This is the first non-smoking pub in london and have to say it's not bad. There is a very small outside area where you can smoke and the inside is nicely smoke free. There is a good selection of beer on offer -especially at the moment during the world cup. There are lots of tv screens but also areas where you can sit away from them. Will be interesting to see what it's like in a 6 months.

BRB at The Gate, Alexandra Park

Generally a nice pub. During the day it can be nice and relaxed but at weekends it can get very busy and noisy and getting served takes ages. Drinks can be pricey but they have a good selection. The pizza's are usually good but they do have off days - try the Malteser Sundae though, it's great!

The Toll Gate, Hornsey

For a wetherspoons it's not too bad. They have speciality beers on most of the time, a good selection of real ales (including some class cornish ones) and the bar staff are very efficient. You can more often that not find a spot away from the usual crowd that gathers at any pub that has cheap drinks and enjoy the rest of your time there.

The Salisbury, Harringay

Fantastic building, a good range of beers but a shame about the mardy bar staff. They play good music and it's generally a nice atmosphere. I didn't eat there but it did look overpriced. Will go again and hope the bar staff are having a better day!

The Occasional Half, Palmers Green

Small pub and although part of the Barracuda chain has a local feel to it. Friendly bar staff and good atmosphere. Usually has a couple of real ales on and its half price beer on a monday - what more could you want!

The Well, Muswell Hill

The Well is a small little pub which has a grown up feel to it. It's over 21's at weekends which makes a nice change. It's got the old style feel to it as the public and saloon bar sides are clearly defined. If you're looking for a nice chardonnay it's probably not for you though. Cheap beer, good real ales, relaxed atmosphere and nice bar staff.

The Jolly Anglers, Wood Green

I love the Jolly Anglers! Late license, good door staff (keeping the teenagers from the Nelson out) and nice atmosphere. They play some really good music and the bar staff are always friendly. Good mix of people in there so you never get bored.

Goose, Wood Green

With drinks this cheap you're going to get some customers you'd rather not meet. Really really smoky (don't go if you're asthamatic!) but fine for a quick drink. The staff are pretty good and afternoons are pretty relaxed in there. Avoid the food though - there's a reason why it's so cheap.

The Maid of Muswell, Muswell Hill

Good range of european beers and real ales but you pay that little extra for it - and it's worth it! Nice outdoor area to the back when it's sunny and the food is really nice. Always enjoy drinking here as the atomosphere is really relaxed and the bar staff are friendly and helpful too.

The Nelson, Wood Green

I used to go to this pub quite a lot but on visiting it again I'm not going to go back. The bar staff were really slow and ignorant and the place was packed full of teenagers that wanted to fight. Avoid if you can.
