The Kings Arms, Salford

This pub is now owned by Paul Heaton. He was the lead singer of The Housemartins, who made some good records, and The Beautiful South, who didn't.

The Dickens Tavern, Paddington

Very average pint of Pride in here. A very unappealing place.

The Lord Clyde, Borough

Sorry, but I just don't get all this praise for what is a very average pub. Yes the interior is impressively unspoilt but so what? The pub sells Youngs, Adnams and Pride - boring safe choices. I always visit the pub when crawling in the area and the beer is well kept but No.5 in the the Top 40 pubs? That's a joke. Someone playing fast and loose with the ratings I think. To redress the balance I'm giving the pub a zero.

The Ship Inn, Wandsworth

I think LeBooze is being a bit disingenuous in his review. While I agree that you could only be in this pub on purpose that doesn't excuse the awful Hooray Henrys who have taken over the place.
Youngs have turned this into a foodie pub to cater for the type of person who wouldn't know a decent pub or a decent pint of ale if their life depended on it.
I used to come here to sit on the wonderful terrace but the combination of monied idiots, emphasis on food and deteriorating quality of ale means this place is no longer worth a toss.
