The Mill Race, Walford

Much modernised, a bit lacking in atmosphere but friendly enough staff serving decent beer but pricier than than the average in the area.

The Inn On The Wye, Goodrich

Average pub in a decent location. Feels a bit too much like a hotel with more rooms that guests, but reasonable choice of local beers and draught and bottled ciders. A convenient stopping point on a Wye Valley pub crawel.

The Brewers Arms, West Malvern

Good little unspoilt pub in a great location. Friendly staff, decent range of pints including Malvern Hills Brewery's ales. Food exceptionally good value and decent quaity (cheapest ever on srendall's 'ham-egg-and-chips-ometer').
Only criticism is the over-stated claim to have the best view from a pub garden - its good, but not that good!

The Saracens Head Inn, Symonds Yat East

Great pub and one of the best for miles around. Could easily trade off its fantastic position by offering average beer and food at inflated prices. Delighted to say it's resisted the temptation and continues to offer good range of well kept beer at reasonable prices, served by friendly and efficient staff. Excellent menu, not the cheapest but above average quality.
Good pub to visit on a summers day, and even better on a wet autumn/winter evening when less crowded.

Chats, Sunningdale

Wish I'd read the reviews before going here. I was served a pint of over-chilled Pride by disinterested staff. The pint resembled the place - expensive, bland and lacking any distinguishable taste.

With a couple of hours to kill in the area every Wednesday evening for the next year or so, the absence of any 'real' pubs in Sunninghill and Sunningdale is alarming!

The Villagers Inn, Blackheath

Used to go to the Villagers (20) years ago for a decent pint, good atmosphere and occassionally good live music. Returned for the first time a couple of weeks ago and very disappointed. Looks like its heading rapidly down hill and needs saving from neglect. An average pint, disinterested staff and tatty garden. Closed mid afternoon (Saturday), presumably not for the purposes of cleaning or staff training !

The Lamb Inn, Clearwell

Visited a couple of years ago whilst on a day-long crawl around the Forest and Valley. By some way the best pub visited, although worryingly we were the only customers (early Friday afternoon in September). Friendly landlord, great range of beers well kept and good value. Will be going out of my way to return. A genuine unpretensious pub.

The Dove Inn, Hammersmith

Would never have found this little gem of a pub without BITE. Small front bar area with big open fire on a very cold night made for a welcoming arrival. Good friendly atmosphere, great riverside view from the terrace at the rear. Usual range of Fullers ales well served by reasonably friendly staff, albeit a little more pricey than some others serving the local brew. Could get a bit crowded if too many people discover it!

The Crown, Horsell

Much improvd in recent years. Regular beers are well served along with an interesting range of guest ales (unfortunately only one guest ale pump but they buy in small quantities and change the guest ale frequently). Food range comprises crisps and pork scatchings, lively quiz on Wednesday nights and occasional band nights on Saturdays
