The Bishop's Finger, Barbican

Great Shepherd Neame pub in a cracking area, beautiful interior, wonderful beers and the burger I tried was delicious, will be going back soon!

The Black Prince, Kennington

Sign saying "Under new management, The Black Prince Ale House will reopen in early november". Looking forward to seeing what happens...

The Windsor Castle, Carshalton

was in last saturday, band were what you would expect from a pub covers band, certainly seemed to be keeping the punters happy and drinking, which is the idea. had the 6X and the harveys best, both very good, would return.

The Duke of Sussex, Chiswick

good sunday roast, not cheap but good quality, staff were veering on the snooty side although they all wore jeans and t-shirts and the place seems to promote a laid back style. stuck to lager for hangover purposes so can't comment on the real ales, good wine list, would return for the food.

Lowlander, Covent Garden

not really a place to drink as everyone was eating, some confusion from the bartender as to wether we could order drinks from the bar and sit outside, when we did get our drinks (grolsch blonde and the missus regular grolsch) they both tasted off so we left...

The Red Lion, Mayfair

Sadly The Red Lion is now closed, there were a number of reasons contributing to this, primarily it is in need of extensive building work. It may or may not reopen as a pub some time, but lets hope it does, as a damn fine pub it was.

Market Tavern, Mayfair

Now called the Market Tavern after a complete refurb. Gone upmarket as is the trend these days, could fair well in this area. Extensive range of lagers and 3 real ales on when i visited, very dimly lit with fairly indifferent staff.

The Three Kings, Clerkenwell

Very nice place, fairly unpretentious and laid back, beer was on form and theres great vinyl playing jukebox in one of the upstairs rooms, during my visit there was a ukelele group practicing in the other upstairs room, providing a quirky backdrop for a few pints. Plus theres a poster of Phil Spector in the gents over which somebody's scribbled "it werent me who killed them girls"!Friendly and diverting place.

The Trafalgar, Chelsea

Draught Peroni is about the only redeeming feature this obnoxious dive. Ordered a vegetarian sandwich for my girlfriend which arrived with sausages, spoke to the barmaid who served me who then told me that I had ordered sausages for my vegetarian girlfriend! No apology was offered and I was made to feel as if i was in the wrong for something I hadn't done!overall quality of the food was not bad, but the sloppy service needs addressing.

The George, Soho

Dirty, dull and overpriced, barmaid was more interested in smoking her fag whilst chatting on her mobile than cleaning up the filthy bar. will not return although it does carry the advantage of guaranteeing you a seat in an otherwise over-populated area.
