The Carpenters Arms, Marble Arch

Have visited this pub 4 times in the past 3 weeks including 0145hrs on new years day. It has always been fantastic with a minimum of 4 beers on and not had anything less than a really good pint and always a really friendly welcome from whichever staff are on duty. Last night had Wandle from Sambrook and Eclipse Porter from Blindmans. Best in the area in my view

Best 'spoons I've been in, good beer range in good condition, food fine,staff helpful. Really comfortable with very pleasant outside areas, all spotless

The White Horse, Oxford

Good range of beers of consistently good quality with changes always being rung.Cosy in winter and cool in summer. Interesting mix of punters.
Overheard an academic type say to a student "and fourteenthly Sarah"

The Boat Inn, Ashleworth

Visited twice in April and May before this summer floods. Four smaller brewery beers all in great condition and about five ciders / perrys. Excellent rolls at lunchtime and a pleasant lawn overlooking The Severn. I'm pleased and surprised it wasn't washed away to the estuary. One of the very best.

The Chequers, Chipping Norton

Great pub, full range of fullers and always well kept, helpful staff and as a bonus the food is excellent and always changing specials. Landlord looks like a gargoyle

The Taps, Lytham St Annes

Always several beers to want to go at in this consistently good pub. It almost makes a 350 mile round trip to visit the mother in law bearable

The Bookbinders Ale House, Oxford

Very good local pub, have always had well served pint from pleasant staff. Food looks fine and prices very reasonable. Do not consider entering the quiz unless accompanied by several mastermind winners. Great place when quiet or busy

The Blue Bell Inn, Kidsgrove

excellent selection of beers and unusual lagers changing all the time. check opening times if travelling. like a trip back to the early sixties inside. good range of punters and the atmosphere puts a smile on your face. one of the very best anywhere.
