The Leodis, Leeds

This estate boozer appears to be in terminal decline. Once you let in dodgy types the locals will stop coming and ultimately you close down. Might be too late for this poor leo.

Railway Inn, Spofforth

Nice friendly Sam smiths pub with fairly large garden/yard at back next to old railway line.

The Castle, Spofforth

Always has good home cooked food and at least two real ales. Has a secret garden you reach through the barn opposite so its great in summer. Well behaved children are welcome but expect the landlady to have a wordfif you bring in brats. She won't turn a blind eye. Quite right too!

The Pineapple Inn, Wakefield

Recently reopened. Fairly large garden and has a cheap and cheerful all day menu. Had Hobgoblin as guest beer.

29 Jul 2013 12:28

The Horse and Groom Inn, Heath

Says "Children's play area" in large letters front and side despite it not having one. Lager is £4. Say no more.

The Woodman Inn, Wakefield

Two or three real ales and a genuinely huge garden. Perfect for summer evenings and for the kids.

The Swan Hotel, South Milford

Pub has changed hands. They have three real ales on and have gone back to a more sensible number of tables. Not that I'm obsessed or owt...

The Graziers Inn, Wakefield

Friendly pub, nice atmosphere. Always a few real ales and nice food. Large kids play area outside but its not a child-infested wacky warehouse type.

The White Lion Hotel, Beaumaris

One room, no frills pub. Not as big as it looks on outside.

Ye Olde Bulls Head Inn, Beaumaris

Whoever it was that voted this pub best in Wales 2012 definately needs to get out more. Yes it is worth a visit with its dark wood interior and cosy fire. But best in Wales? Come on.

The Bold Arms Hotel, Beaumaris

Now a spit and sawdust no frills boozer with just Marston's Pedigree.

Three Pigeons, Halifax

Cracking pub with multiple cosy rooms.

Big Six, Halifax

Hidden gem. You'd never stumble across it but it was well worth seeking out.

The Six Bells, Bishops Castle

Sell cider in winter and you'd get an 8.

The Castle Hotel, Bishop's Castle

The staff here are incredibly nice and the food is really good. We basked in the autumn sunshine in the large garden overlooking the town. Must be a fantastic spot in Summer. Robinson's Flagon cider is good stuff. Lovely pub, lovely people.

The Shepherds Boy, Dewsbury

We've always had a friendly welcome here. Has nice enclosed garden for summer and children are welcome. Always has quite a few real ciders. Why am I always in the car though?

The Black Bear, Wool

Friendly staff and absolutely fantastic lamb steak.

27 Aug 2012 18:15

Kings Arms, Wareham

Had a melt in the mouth steak and a lovely old rosie. Nice place and nice staff.

Red Lion, Winfrith Newburgh

Its strange sometimes reading other peoples reviews that are the polar opposite of your own experience. The staff when we visited (south African family) were absolutely lovely and the food was superb. HUGE portions but good stuff. Something about the outside has put me off going but I was pleasantly suprised once we went.

The Countryman Inn, East Knighton

When we arrived many of the dishes on the blackboard had sold out stickers on them. That's fine but the chap who took our order then returned twice to tell us various items we'd ordered were also sold out despite not having a sticker. Dirty plates were never taken away even though we were there over an hour, and we had to ask twice before they remembered the kids ice cream.

The Sailors Return, East Chaldon

Just got back from a holiday at a cottage in the village. We found the staff very friendly, the food was really good a the 3 real ciders and 2 types of perry was extremely welcome.

The Fernandes Brewery Tap and Bier Keller, Wakefield

I never get to go to this lovely boozer because they don't let the kids in. I can understand that but it doesn't stop me quitely weeping as I trudge past holding their bedraggled hands.

Six Chimneys, Wakefield

Drinks and staff are fine but in terms of the building itself its pretty rubbish. Natural light doesnt get anywhere near the back of this long gloomy pub.

24 Jan 2012 12:39

The Little Bull, Middlestown

Popped in with the nipper for something to eat today. Nice food, good selection of drinks and nice people too.

11 Jan 2012 20:08

Jolly Sailor Inn, Cawood

This pub has a really cosy atmosphere and a wide range of drinks. We had a great sunday lunch and very good value. Definately recommended.

The Mexborough Arms, Thorner

Nice pub, nice staff, nice big garden. Only downside is that, whilst I'm a working class person and don't mind rough and ready, the people you'll find regularly in the garden on a nice day are a bit beyond even that.

19 Aug 2011 12:16

The Swan Hotel, South Milford

I notice that every single patch of spare grass now has a table on it. Call me anti-social but when I'm having a pint outside i'd rather not have another set of people literally a foot away. Very odd.

The Bush, St Hilary

What a lovely summer experience my family and I had at the Bush whilst on holiday recently. We ate outside in their large garden as the sun set. The Food was absolutely outstanding and really reasonably priced. The staff were so friendly and went out of their way to look after us even finding some toys for my two young children to play with in the garden. Over and above what we would ever expect. I can't rate the place highly enough.

Pelican In Her Piety, Ogmore By Sea

Even accepting the price of ale these days, the drinks are a tad expensive. Similarly the food is fairly pricey; however it has to be said it was of extremely good quality. The view of Ogmore castle from the garden as the sun sets is lovely. Children are welcome.

29 Jul 2011 10:54

Vale of Glamorgan Inn, Cowbridge

Really nice real ale boozer with friendly staff. Not only did they let me bring my young children in for a bite to eat but they also had a real cider. Ticks all the boxes for me!

29 Jul 2011 10:44

The Black Swan, Wistow

Nice big garden for kids and really helpful and friendly staff served us our food.

12 Apr 2011 11:18

Barnbow, Crossgates

The time that people came into the pub with shotguns and shot the bouncer in the leg tells you all you need to know.

14 Nov 2008 17:43

Colton mill, Colton

The area has been crying out for a new pub for years. Sadly this isn't it. Its a fake pub that is designed to sell food. It has a bar area roughly the size of a towel and a food area the size of the Roman Empire.
