The Benjamin Satchwell, Leamington Spa

Appeals to me as a weekday evening drinker due to having 6 fruit machines and 1 itbox, large selection of cheap beers and wines, as someone said before the toilets are disgusting beyond belief, it has one of those charts inside the main toilet entrance to say its been cleaned every hour, you know, the ones the staff just stick their head round and tick without even entering the bogs.
Food is fine for the price you pay but dont get overly excited but if you want a basic beer with basic food on a basic budget and without too much hassle then this place does fine.

The Blue Lias, Stockton

Lovely setting, absolutely divine by summer and warm and cosy by winter.
Menu is very very basic and quite pricey for what you get which is just normal frozen food cooked for you.
Staff freindly and helpful.

Wow, we stopped at the nearby Hobourne park and took a wander into the village. Parked a big fat motorhome in the not so big drive and no complaints, no complaints either when we asked for hot water for our childs dinner, just a polite explanation why he couldnt microwave the bottle, we both had a couple of pints and a curry on a 2 for 1 offer, absolutely superb, some jobsworths/people (even in todays struggling climate) try to make your visit as miserable as possible but not here, outstanding is all i can say, lovely quaint pub like an old rickety house, curry was 8/10 and superbly edible, bar staff/chef/locals absolutely wonderful, if you want it good then go here if your in the area, simple as that really.

The Gristmill Inn, Sydenham

Superb pub, family run, the words cheap and good dont normally go together but it does here.
I cant fault this pub whatsoever, little bit niggled that kids have to be gone by 8 during the summer months but now back at school they are tucked in bed by that time so not a problem.
Beautifully maintained by the family with no expense spared, good looking barstaff too !!
Overall a nice relaxing pub with plenty to do and a great kids area.

The Forge Inn, Glenfield

Atrocious....but not all bad. Food was lovely and priced ok. However. The non smoking area was put slap bang in the middle of 2 smoking sections, not very cleverly thought out. Maybe its different where i live but i thought to find someone lighting up next to you was a thing of the past. Then they struggled to find a table for 6 of us because at 12.30 they had a table that was booked at 3 reserved and unusable. This was soon sorted though. Nice to have a pint of Everards Tiger again though.
The 2 barmaids were not very helpful and there were no baby changing facilities at all. We had to lay him on the floor of the disabled toilet and lo and behold no where to put a poo poo nappy. I asked the barmaid where i should put it and she shrugged her shoulders and then put it in the bin behind the bar!! Maybe im used to better things where i live now but the whole experience (and believe you me i aint posh)was not very good at all. If you respect your lungs and dont wanna put ya kids on a dirty floor then go elsewhere!!!
