The Horseshoe, Warlingham

The Horsehoe is a lovely pub. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Service is with a smile and staff are professional about their jobs.

The Horseshoe is one of the few dog friendly pubs left in Warlingham and we are regularly offered a bowl of water for our mutt whenever we go in.

The restaurant menu is excellent but a little pricey. Bar snacks are pretty good. Tapas/light bite snacks are verygood value and a tasty alternative to a bag of crisps.

The Good Companions, Warlingham

Dreadful souless pub. Grubby, overpriced and a pretty horrible experience.

Such a shame as this could be a little goldmine (as it was in the 80's).

The White Lion, Warlingham

The White Lion used to be such a wonderful pub, but over the years has lost it's soul.

The pub is very popular with the younger crowd on a Friday night and as such is usually pretty busy. The pub is poorly managed with staff unaware of who is next to be served, often chatting with their friends rather than professionally going about their jobs.

Food is OK for the money and service is usually fairly quick.

The Horsehoe is now a much better bet as service is excellent as is the welcome.

Cornish Arms, Hayle

Decided to go into the Cornish Arms as from the outside it looked like a lovely old fashioned pub.... and hopefully a good old fashioned welcome as well. Could not have been more wrong! The staff were rude, the food was absolutely appalling and the welcome was non existant. The food is NOT freshly prepared and was not hot enough. I should have complained, but to be honest, the attitude of the staff was obvious that I would get nowhere and I really just wanted to get out of there as quickly as possible. Should have picked up fish and chips at the local chippy!

Do not waste your hard earned cash on this disappointing pub.
