Pelican In Her Piety, Ogmore By Sea

HAVING JUST VISITED THIS PUB WITH MY WIFE WE WERE BOTH DISGUSTED.
lONDON PRIDE WARM ,CLOUDY AND VINEGARY.
ORDERED FRESH GOWER MUSSELS WITH CHIPS AND HOME MADE CRUSTY BREAD AT 13-95
MUSSELS WERE MOSTLY BROKEN UP SHELLS.
CHIPS WERE COLD AND THE HOME MADE CRUSTY BREAD WAS A SOGGY BROWN BREAD ROLL FROM SOME SUPERMARKET.
MY WIFE HAD HOMEMADE BUBBLE AND SQUEAK WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE FROM A MASS CATERER [WHO WAS DELIVERING THERE AT THE TIME]
IT WAS DRENCHED IN BALSAMIC VINEGAR AND INEDIBLE.
i AM IN THE PUB TRADE MYSELF AND i RECOGNISED THAT WHAT THEY ARE TRYING TO SELL AS HOMEMADE IS IN FACT MICROWAVE STUFF FROM A LOCAL SUPPLIER WHICH NORMALLY SELLS AT ABOUT 6
THIS PLACE IS A TOURIST RIP OFF AND HAS GONE DOWNHILL OVER THE YEARS
GIVE IT A MISS

Hen and Chickens, Abergevenny

we went there to see a jazz band on a pleasant sunday and we were happy to find a lovely, busy pub with helpful staff.........but we were sorely let down by filthy glasses, and not just one, all of them
tis a pity because thats whats stuck in my head now, but really it has a lot going for it
besides the dirty glasses, the beer was good.....especially the brains sa

The Coach and Horses Inn, Chepstow

ive been drinking in and around chepstow for the last few years and the coach really has just gotten better and better. i was in on the weekend and there were 6 cracking ales on and the landlord says hes keeping it that way. also me being a summer cider drinker he mentioned that he was getting a handpull cider on for the summer.
for such a traditional pub the music is very, very eclectic.....from jazz to strange african sounds, strange but pleasant
