The Cricketers, Sarratt

sadly, more of a restaurant than a proper pub these days. recently refurbed, very pretty, Gok would be proud. having said that, they do have some good ales on offer and recently the quality has improved a lot (they used to taste like a dilute version of the ale you know and love). the food is ok, so if you're hungry and fancy a decent pint, it's a good place to go.

The Cumberland Arms, Ouseburn

got the chance to drop in to this wonderful pub when in Newcastle recently, brilliant range of well kept ales, live music, friendly atmos - pubs don't come any better than this. worth moving house, changing jobs and kids schools etc to have it as your local.

The County, Gosforth

visited a couple of times last week when in Newcastle. a great range of real ales and a good drinkers pub. friendly staff.
a couple of minor criticisms - there's a strong smell of stale beer on entering, also, the gents loos smell dreadful and need a good clean. both problems could be solved by cleaning and ventilation.
overall though, a good pub.

The Gosforth Hotel, Gosforth

Visited last Sunday for the first time since last year. Had a good range of ales (as usual) but my first pint, Doombar, was strangely tasteless and my second, Deuchars IPA, was so watery I couldn't drink it at all. I drink these beers regularly and know how they should taste, very disappointing.
