The Old Fisherman, Shabbington

Lovely location for a summer bank holiday lunch
Unfortunately all down hill after we arrived for a family meal
Huge queues at the bar, but we were taken to our table that we reserved.
We ordered drinks immediatley that took nearly an hour to come - it was really hot in the restaurant part and we were all wilting.
The food was very average and again took over an hour to come
They say fish is a speciality - but they forgot to include the dressing on the sea bass
The cheesburger was the worst I have ever seen - made Mcdonalds look good. It had a slice of that plastic orange cheese just dumped in the roll - not even heated or slightly melted. Just cold like a flacid piece of lino - shocking!
The waitress did her best, but it was clear that the owners had no interest in staffing to appropriate numbers for the holiday
We will not return

The Express Tavern, Kew Bridge

Best pub in Brentford - Simple as.
Perfect beer, good atmosphere, no juke box, no slot machines, no drunken youths - Proper local
Keep it up!

The Kings Arms, Tring

Was in there on Saturday night - Beer was excellent as always.
Easily the best quality and selection in Tring
The only down side was the miserable group of locals swearing at the bar - not at all welcoming!

The Valiant Trooper, Aldbury

I live locally to this pub and always enjoy the beer - well kept with a good selection of local brews. It is a real shame that the food is not up to the same standard. Me and my wife were here last month for a meal on a Saturday night and it was really awful. There were six in our group and nobody enjoyed the food. The starters and main courses were all very disappointing. All the different mains seemed to be covered in the same terrible gravy - or as the menu suggested in one case - jus. Also, there was no atmosphere as the place was mostly empty - maybe word is out locally about the quality of the food.
It is a pity as I remember eating here at the beginning of the Summer and had a much nicer experience.

The Kings Arms, Tring

Just moved into Tring - this place is a gem.
The perfect local with lovely food to add to the fine, and continuoisly changing, selection of real ales.
Dogs not allowed in the bar, but are welcome in the garden where you will be served through a window.
