Come on, folks, this classic alehouse deserves better than a 4.3 rating! It's a great pub. Greene King were defeated and it's back in the hands of the people, and we should be proud and enjoy it. It remains a gorgeous, quintessential English tavern and deserves to be supported.

The Basketmakers Arms, Brighton
Fabulous pub - great atmosphere, first class ales; one of Brighton's finest. Smoking ban will improve it even more. If they did wholesome food rather than superficial pub fare, this would be a practically perfect pub. I've got great memories of this pub, and love taking friends here from foreign parts - they love it.

Superb alehouse - its guest ales are invariably excellent and its own brews are classics. Will benefit immensely from the smoking ban.

Excellent pub lunch - among the best in Brighton for variety and satisfying Sunday roast.
