The Devils Dyke Hotel, Brighton

Visited this establishment August1st. very busy and rather slow service, however the roast lamb was reasonable and not over expensive the guest ale ,sharps doombar very drinkable at three pounds per pint ,cheaper than harveys which is local, nice chatty server worth the windy open top bus ride,From earlier comments the pub appears to have improved .One nice notice IF YOU WOULD LIKE A NON TRADITIONAL PINT OF REAL ALE ie NO HEAD ASK FOR A TOP UP.this I like some pubs cheat the customer by serving short measure.,saying a frothy head looks good on a pint. This may have been accepctable when beer was ONESHILLING a pint. Heady days.

Nice little pub.A friendly welcome was afforded to me I had not been in ths pub before, the Spitfirewas very drinkable,at 3.10. which is cheaper than some Surrey and Outer London pubs.Overall first impressions good ,the young lady server was very attentive and chatty.there were no other customers in the bar.,early afternoon and a Tuesday.Would like to visit again with more people in the pub. The food menue looked very good Iwas told they cater for students as such the prices were competitive.

Excellent beer,as usual for Fullers. But wat a pity ,I wes served by a rather impersonal young blond server,I ordered two pints of Chiswick.both had different amounts in the glass one was short by atleast one inch from the rim, when asked fpr a top up was given it very begrudgingly and without any words spoken.Come on now FULLERS you can do better than this .Where do you get your staff from.Get some with personality.

The White Hart, New Haw

Since writing my last report on this establishment, the prices have risen,Courage best now 3.five pence per pint, guest ales3ten pence.sometimes one has to ask for a TOP UP..The pub is clean and airy.but the acoustics are bad,one can hear other customers from across the other side of the bar.Bring Back the carpet, and change the music .The pub has lost its Riverside charms,The food Thai/English.is good .well prepared and quite good selections and portions.Overall the pub is well runbut a bit expensive for the area in which it is situated.
